These are the licence terms linked from the free non-commercial licence request form. They are separate from the paid Local Edition licence terms and from any IIBA member benefit.
1. Grant
BA Copilot Ltd grants the person named in the licence key a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use BA Copilot Local Edition version 1 for non-commercial purposes only. The licence is perpetual for version 1. The key does not expire and is verified on your device without a licensing server.
2. Permitted use
Personal use. Study and teaching. Academic or independent research. Evaluation of the software. You may use the included on-device model or connect an AI provider you configure. Provider charges remain your responsibility.
3. Not permitted
Any commercial use, including work for an employer, work for clients, paid or unpaid consulting, internal business operations, and use inside any organisation to deliver its products or services. Sharing the key, resale, redistribution, sublicensing, or hosting BA Copilot Local Edition as a product or service. Removing or altering licence notices.
4. Commercial use
This licence does not cover commercial use. If your use becomes commercial, stop using the software under this licence and contact support@ba-copilot.com.
5. No support or updates
The software is provided as it is. No technical support, service level, guaranteed updates, compatibility commitment, or commitment to future development is included. "Perpetual" describes the right to use the licensed version 1 edition. It does not describe the lifetime of a person, device, operating system, model, or integration.
6. Your data
BA Copilot Local Edition stores your process maps and settings on your device. On-device processing keeps prompts on your computer. If you connect a network or cloud AI endpoint, relevant content is sent to that provider under its terms. You are responsible for your own backups.
7. Records and communication
To issue the key, BA Copilot Ltd records the name and email address you submit, the terms version you accepted, the time of acceptance, and a hashed form of your IP address. BA Copilot Ltd may email you about this licence, for example to send a replacement key or to tell you about a change that affects it.
8. Termination
The licence ends automatically if you breach these terms. On termination you must stop using the software and delete your copies of the key. BA Copilot Ltd may revoke a key issued on false information.
9. Intellectual property
BA Copilot and its software remain owned by or licensed to BA Copilot Ltd. Except as expressly permitted, you may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, sublicense, or create a derivative or competing product, except where applicable law does not allow that restriction.
10. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BA Copilot Ltd is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, loss of profits, or loss of data arising from this free licence. Nothing in these terms limits rights or liability that applicable law does not permit us to exclude.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
